Join my conversation with Samuel Jack. Renowned for his rugged soulful vocals and emotive lyricism, London born Samuel Jack spent his formative years in Johannesburg, with his film director Father. His unique and undeniably catchy sound oozes with the rich fabric of his colorful and nomadic upbringing. Raised on Blues, Motown, soul and roots music, Jack aims to produce something with indisputable honesty and authenticity. “As always with my songs, I just want them to be 100% honest, open and vulnerable in some respects.No bars held”. It’s his candidness that allows audiences to connect on a more meaningful level and has ultimately been resonating with people across the globe. His broad musical palette and sheer talent is evident in his highly anticipated album which is due top of 2020! The album narrates the struggles with inner demons, the turbulence of family and relationships, the desire and want for something or someone and how music helps to build bridges and establish new relationships. There’s anthems, there’s ballads and there’s some heavy hitters. Jack expresses, “I listen to all sorts of music, but there is something about Blues, about Soul, about Gospel that just gets into my veins. The history of it all, the hurt, the pain, the joy, the sex. And when those emotions are delivered by a voice that really means it, I just feel like there can’t be a better way to express yourself”.

Join our conversation with Nyah Grace.
Nyah grew up on her grandparents’ farm in rural Oregon, with hazelnut trees, two cows, three chickens, two cats, a bunch of dogs, three horses and wide-open spaces. As a child, she wanted to be Selena Gomez or Taylor Swift, but discovering Billie Holiday and Alicia Keys in her early teens set her down a different path. That passion for music saw her developing her talents in the basement of the farm, teaching herself piano to be able to write songs and then Logic to transform those ideas into demos.
Her momentum soon snowballed. She was discovered by a manager, who whisked her across the Atlantic to work with Michael Kwesi Graves in Brixton and then Steve Chrisanthou in Hebden Bridge, Yorkshire. For months she went back-and-forth between the two locations and relocated to the UK permanently when she was just 17 years old.
The result is her debut album ‘Honey Coloured’. It’s a scintillating blend of neo-soul, R&B and jazz in which Nyah performs with both youthful exuberance and a maturity beyond her tender age. As well as these two new singles, the album also highlights ‘My Sista Told Me’, a duet and co-write with Corinne Bailey Rae.

Redbeard Samurai is a 9-piece Alt. RnB and Hip-hop group. We generally feature a 3-piece horn section in addition to the people featured on our video. We pay homage to the greats and really see the trajectory of the genre from jazz to rnb to soul to funk to hip-hop. These are all of a single lineage and we hope to put some impression of our own on that lineage.
This song came to me on a walk home from the park. I was thinking about an old girlfriend when I started getting struck by rain. I thought "let the rain fall down to set the scene for how I'm feeling right now." The tune came in one of those moments of letting myself be honest with my emotions. Too often I just push emotional baggage to the back of my mind, but in that moment I was able to let go, and this song came out.

Join my conversation with singer/songwriter Geary Beals. Gary is from a small, predominantly black rural community of Cherry Brook, Nova Scotia, Gary's involvement in the local church choir, and as part of the gospel group Light of Day, helped develop his soulful voice. Influenced by velvet-voiced crooners Al Green and Marvin Gaye and universally admired vocalists like Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson, Beals continues to create a sound all his own. Beal's 2005 self-titled debut album, and follow-up release "The Rebirth of...", earned him widespread praise, along with a Juno nomination for "Best R&B/Soul Recording," and East Coast Music Award, and nominations for an Urban Music Award and a Canadian Radio Music Award.
Despite his successes, Gary felt confined by traditional constructs of music written, recorded and performed for the masses, and wasn't able to identify with stereotypical love songs (boy likes girl; boy pursues girl, or vice versa). Feeling like he had hidden parts of himself for so long, Gary felt like he had lost sight of who he was. Periods of healing and self discovery eventually led to self-love, growth, power and happiness.
Now stronger than ever, Gary Beals introduces us to more refined and conscious version of himself. From track opener and lead single "Me For Me", which tackles vulnerability in relationships to the confident and aggressive "Why Not" about Gary pursing a long interest.

Join my conversation with singer Agyakomah. NYC-based artist, Agyakomah has been developing her artistic talents seriously for the past three years. She has been writing and recording behind the scenes honing in on her musical identity and vision, beginning in her middle school years and continuing through her college career.
Agyakomah’s music and performance is heavily inspired by her unique experience being raised in a Ghanaian household, while growing up in New York. With parents playing high-life music on Sunday’s, or hearing Ghanaian gospel music in church, Agyakomah would also be listening to her favorite R&B, Soul, and Pop music on her own time including Lauryn Hill, Brandy, and Boyz II Men. This background is heavily reflected in her Afro-Fusion, Afro-R&B, and hiplife inspired sound, her storytelling and her visuals. Agyakomah hopes to use her artistry to be a connector for people who are also simultaneously living the African experience, while also being a product of their immediate environment.
She is currently writing, recording and gearing up to travel back to Ghana to work on her debut project anticipated to drop in 2020.

Fusing beautiful pop melodies, soulful vocals and explosive energy, the pop-punk soul artist delivers listeners with a fresh, contemporary sound. Join our conversation with Tafari (pronounced Ta-far-eye) Anthony. He is a Toronto based artist whose music blends R&B, pop, and soul. He is a creator who embodies the spirit of the modern musician. Not just a musician, but a creator. Known for his sleek vocal tones, sultry melodies and music which oozes with personality, Tafari leaves listeners in awe – somewhat apt considering his name means “He who inspires awe”.
His influences range from artists like Prince and John Legend, to more contemporary artists like Lennon Stella and Charlie Puth, among others. Join me in a conversation with Singer/Songwriter Cooper Phillip.
With her stunning voice, beautiful looks and intense drive, COOPER PHILLIP captures the undivided attention of the eyes and ears around her. COOPER has always been a small town girl with dreams bigger than anyone could fully imagine. Born in Russia to a family of classical musicians, her early years were shaped being raised by her grandmother and aunt while her mother, a master violin player, toured around the world with various symphonies. This separation led COOPER to take comfort in music at an early age where she was mesmerized by the vocal stylings of Ella Fitzgerald. She learned her songs inside and out, noticing every nuance of Ella’s phrasing and jazz intonations. At 12 years old, COOPER permanently went to live with her mother. It was a major adjustment for both of them, but her mom soon realized her daughter had a gift and decided to help expand her musical talents. She enrolled COOPER in the prestigious Moscow State Classical Academy where she studied classical piano, theory, harp, jazz, blues, ballet and voice. And it was her vocal teacher at the academy who would prove to be the most pivotal in her development when she introduced her to the music of Mariah Carey. COOPER was obsessed.
She began singing every day, taking in the sounds of Barbra Streisand and studying a wide range of artist. Listening to her impressive pipes, her voice, which won singing competitions at 11 years old, easily elevates her above the rest of aspiring sirens. Not only gifted vocally, she learned classical piano and harp, being raised in a family of accomplished classical musicians.
